King Charles III is mourning the loss of his mother.

Queen Elizabeth II passed away on Thursday, September 8, at age 96.

Charles was at her side at Balmoral as she passed away.

On Friday, he traveled back to London to address the world.

He began his speech by praising his mother and her 70 years of service on the throne.

He said that he felt the sorrow of the world “beyond measure” and joined in mourning her loss.

King Charles said that he will take a step back from his charities in light of his new role.

He also addressed his wife, Camilla, by her new title of Queen Consort.

He also expressed love for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as they “continue to live their lives overseas.”
